Not Pennsylvania again.....and New York!

We have been staying in a large house in Bushkill, Pennsylvania for 3 nights, enroute to Washington DC, where we will spend a couple of days sightseeing and then putting Morgan and Jakeb on the plane back to Perth....which is making me feel very sad.
It's always nice to spend a few days in a place that you have to yourselves and this place is pretty picturesque.  Amongst the normal things a house offers, there are two washing machines and a dryer...I'm pretty easy to please....and a table tennis table, pool table and hot tub, 2 huge TV's and deer!
A deer out the front of the house we are staying in.
Morgan has been unwell for the past 3 days with a gastro bug, so he has been able to lay low in comfortable surrounds. Stu went for a bushwalk to some falls....Bushkill Falls.
Driving back from the Falls, he was pulled over by a cop who had been following him.  He knew he had done nothing wrong so was really puzzled as to why he was being pulled over.  Turns out, the area we are staying in is a private community and the residents pay taxes to have a police presence.  Someone had reported a gold coloured car, similar to ours, with Colorado number plates who was going around selling books!?!?!  We had a map book, scenic drive book and some of Morgan's novels in the back seat, so Stu must have looked the part!  Once Stuart explained who he was etc. the cop let him go.....he must love his job if that's the caliber of crime in the area!!
The next day, Stu and the boys drove into New York, which was only 2 hrs away and spent the day there. They parked the car at Hoboken train station on the west side of the Hudson River and caught the subway in.
Joshuah did get to go up the Empire State Building...in real life...and he and Morgan were able to see a lot of  the iconic places in New York...

They went to Grand Central Station....
Times Square.....
 and Central Park.....
as well as the Museum of Natural History, which Joshuah loved.  They left the house at 6 am and got home at 11pm, so were pretty tired, but had a great day.  Stu said driving into NY was OK except for the people beeping their horns at you, which is relentless...and the dodgy characters taking toll money from a very quiet road, with so signs, out in the back blocks......but he wasn't going to argue with them!
The next day we were heading into DC, but not before taking the boys back to Lancaster County to show them the Amish communities and of course a Covered Bridge
....they were as intrigued as we had been...and I was really glad they had a glimpse of the lifestyle and the great countryside.  Next stop....Washington DC.
